"flies are buzzing ’round their heads"

October 6, 2007

the title of this post was supposed to be “the big fish eat the little ones,” another line from radiohead’s ‘optimistic’ in regard to the yankees winning last night’s game to tie the series at one. instead, they lost again in a field actually filled with flies all over it. i know the rest of the song goes on to mention “you can try the best you can, the best you can is good enough,” and if the yankees could just play anywhere close to the best they can it would be. i don’t want to spend the rest of the post-season with only injuries to boston players and fans to cheer for.

speaking of injuries there is one 2007 yankee* to add to the painfully awkward marked for death list – relief pitcher russ olendorf. joe torre showed great restraint when olendorf came back to the dugout after giving up 3 runs and only getting one out. had i been in torre’s position i would have taken him in the dugout and shot him in the face. i then would have gone into the stands looking for his family and friends. get out of new york, asshole! i would rank your popularity here somewhere between mahmoud ahmadinejas and bin laden

it is hard to call him a yankee as i believe he pitched a total of 6 innings this season? may all of the bad things in life happen to him.
