with the great illness of 2006 coming to an end (hopefully) and no studying to be done, i have found myself with an exorbitant amount of bed ridden free time. luckily the television programmers have provided me with many, many joyous recorded hours of 90210, friends, and the champion of the week that i only recently started recording dawson’s creek. though i was never a big fan of the show, it did have one of the best last episodes of any of the shows…for those with a life (or who simply don’t remember) a refresher:
it takes place like 5 years in the future – jen dies, jack is still gay, and joey (still normal, pretty, and witty (years before she would find tom cruise and ruin her life) has to choose between dawson and pacey. dawson has a successful tv show based on his childhood, while pacey is a chef in whatever town they grew up in (capeside?). ultimately joey chooses pacey, because dawson has his writing and television show, which is really kind of shitty for him. yeah, i’ve given much thought to it and remember thinking the same as i did when i saw the episode originally – getting the girl has to be so much better. granted as a successful screenwriter in hollywood even dawson would pick up lots of hot girls, they would all be dumb and it would never be the same as having joey.
